Peugeot will unveil a refreshed 3008 crossover and 5008 7-Seater MPV at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. The new-look 3008 and 5008 will both adopt Peugeot’s new floating grille at the front and rear LED claws to create a strong and instantaneously recognisable Peugeot light signature. Both models will gain further equipment, new options, the latest Peugeot engines and new interior trims. The arrival of the two facelift models, just months after the launch of the excellent new Peugeot 2008 compact crossover and coinciding with the launch of the refined all-new Peugeot 308 in Ireland this December, means that the Peugeot range will be amongst the youngest and freshest on the European market in 2014.
With over 500,000 sales worldwide, exceeding original targets by 50%, the Peugeot 3008, voted Irish Car of the Year 2010, has been a strong success. Combining the best features of an SUV, a Hatchback and an MPV, the cockpit style interior, SUV type loading area and unique split boot have gained conquest customers to the Peugeot brand since 2009.
Since its launch in 2011, the world-first 3008 HYbrid4 diesel electric model has also won over many customers, representing more than 10% of sales of the 3008 and 6% of hybrid vehicles in Europe. 3008 HYbrid4 offers the combination of a 2.0-litre HDi FAP diesel engine of 120kW (163bhp) and an electric motor of 27kW (37bhp) to offer a four-wheel drive vehicle that has made a true breakthrough in reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Its power reaches a total of 147kW (200bhp) with a maximum torque of 300Nm at the front and 200Nm at the rear. In the Combined Cycle, fuel economy is low at just 3.4 l/100km, with CO2 emissions of just 88g/km.
Retaining all of their strengths, the latest 3008 and 3008 HYbrid4 models are now distinguished by an elegant and contemporary style, emphasised by new lights. A new full colour head-up display has been installed and a new reversing camera makes manoeuvres easier by displaying the area immediately behind the vehicle.
When it arrived, the Peugeot 5008 7-Seat MPV, Irish Family Car of the Year 2011, fast became the benchmark in its class. A compact 3-row MPV, the Peugeot 5008 carries passengers in a high level of practicality, comfort and safety. From an elevated position, defined by a high console, the driver has excellent road visibility and control. Two passengers in row three enjoy an easily accessible space in comfort. Three ISOFIX baby seat fixtures are housed in row 2.
For more enjoyable journeys, the special edition 5008 Family Style is fitted with a multimedia system integrated into the back of the front passenger head restraints. It consists of two 7” colour screens, a connection console compatible with portable audio/video equipment and two Bluetooth® wireless headphones.
Due in Ireland this December, ahead of January sales, prices and equipment details of the new-look Peugeot 3008 and 5008 will be released closer to their arrival.
